“Learn a Living in Construction Technology” is painted on the trailer at the site in Chino Valley where the RBT program is building an energy and resource efficient house as part of its curriculum.
The program offers its vision for the future by teaching technologies that build sustainable efficiency into the very structure of the house.
“You know who I think owns it? The musicians in this town,” Bob Bjorklund says of POPS Music Shop. “Without them we wouldn’t even be open.” If you want to get technical, however, it’s owned by Michele MacBride who runs it along with Bjorklund. “We’re responsible for it; it’s our baby,” he says, but wants to be clear that “she’s the boss.”
It’s amazing how many bicyclists you notice when you set out to photograph them. It made me start to wonder what motivates these people to really get their legs moving. The only problem proved to be catching up with them!
When I was able to stop a few determined folks, I found that every person I spoke with had his own unique reasons for hopping on a bike; aside from the obvious, such as soaring fuel prices and exercise.
