The Rough Writer is a free, monthly student newspaper published on the Prescott campus by Yavapai College students. It is published during the months of September – December and February – May of each school year.

The Mission

It is the mission of the Rough Writer to provide Yavapai College students, faculty, staff and community members with information, opinions and entertainment which are accurate, fair and representative of our diverse population.

It routinely publishes news, sports, commentary and features.

Stories and photos are produced by paid staff members. Freelance editorial, feature and news articles are also encouraged. Contact the Editor at 776-2221, or stop by Bldg. 3, Rm. 118 for further submission information.
